Joshua VanTilburgh is a Music Education major at Wright State University. Josh has played the viola for over 13 years, and has a wide range of experience playing in many orchestras, chamber groups, and solo work.

Josh VanTilburgh has served as principal violist in the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, the Wright State University Orchestra, and co-Principal of the Wright State Chamber Orchestra. His string quartet has annually played at Wright State’s Arts Gala and Holidays in the Heartland annual community program at the Schuster Center. His Haydn Quartet received honorable mention at the MENC Chamber Music Competition at the regional level, and was also chosen to play the opening piece for the Inaugural Concert for the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Hall at Wright State. Josh is also a talented violinist who has performed in musicals, operas, weddings, and other free-lance opportunities in and around the Dayton area. He has taught students of all skill levels and ages.Josh’s students have successfully participated in OMEA conferences as well as the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Strings Orchestra auditions. Josh also enjoys singing in the Collegiate Chorale at Wright State and has led worship at his church for many years playing guitar and singing.

Josh is available on Thursdays and Fridays at the studio.

He is also available for lessons in the student’s home.  Please call for availability.
