Irish Fiddle Camp

What to Expect

Students will learn traditional Irish tunes (airs, reels, jigs, and slip jigs) along with ornamentation and improvisational skills.  Students will also learn about the Irish culture and music from an instructor who studied there!

This half-day camp is for students of all ages and will be offered:

July 24 – July 28

Class meets Monday – Friday  10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Registration deadline is July 17.

Students in this class will learn:

  • airs
  • reels
  • jigs & slip jigs
  • will be encouraged to find their own voice through the use of ornamentation

Is Irish Fiddle Camp right for you?

This class is for current violin students interested in Irish music and fiddle techniques.  Students should be able to play on all four strings and preferably in  2 major and 2 minor keys.  Per the Irish tradition where adults and kids play together, there is no age limit for this class.
