Violin Lessons

What to Expect

Violin lessons are customized to fit the individual needs of our students.  Our expert instructors will teach you the fundamentals using a variety of different methods.

Voice Lessons will include teaching on:

  • Reading music (notes, rhythms, terms, etc.)
  • Posture and how to properly hold the instrument
  • Bowing technique
  • Fingering technique
  • Basics on caring for the instrument
Our violin teachers are available Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Denise Carter earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Wright State University in 1994. She began teaching privately in 1993.

Yoshiko received her BM from New England Conservatory of Music, MM from University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and also received additional training at the Universitat Mozarteum in Salzburg Austria.

Moira Levant holds a Master’s degree in Ethnomusicology from the University of Limerick, Ireland; a Master’s in Music Comp from Carnegie Mellon; and a Bachelor’s in Music from Wright State.

Joshua VanTilburgh is a Music Education major at Wright State University. He has played the viola for over 13 years, and has a wide range of experience playing orchestras and chamber groups.
